Game Design Challenge - Let's Take This Outside!
1) Scepter Ball
2) Attack/Defend Knock the Ball off the Water Jug Game
4) Zombie Tag
5) Super Ultimate Chair 4
We then voted to choose what we would play. The winning game's rules are posted below, if anyone wants to try it again, and perfect its gameplay.
Setup - Two teams start in a line on opposite ends of a field (ideally the size of a soccer field or smaller). In the middle is a folding chair, with two batons below it. Each team has a soccer ball.
Goal - Each team wants to put their ball in the seat of the folding chair. Once they accomplish this, they then take a baton from below the chair and run a relay to the opposite end of the field from which they started. Crossing the finish line results in one point and the end of the round. A game is composed of at least three rounds. The first team to 3 points wins.
Rules - Attacking) Players can move freely without the ball. When holding the ball, you must stop in place. To move again, you must first pass the ball to another teammate, who then freezes. Players can move freely without the baton. Those with the baton can only take two steps, and then must freeze and throw/hand off the baton to another player to continue. If the ball or the baton hits the ground, the team must start over (from the beginning with the ball and from the chair with the baton).
Defending) To defend against the other team, players can stand in front of opposing players with the ball or baton and attempt to block their passes. Only one person may block at a time. The blocker must stand at least an arm's width away from the opposing player and cannot touch them in any way. They may hit the ball or baton down to the ground once it has left the other player's hand.
Chair Zone) No one can stand within three feet from the folding chair except to pick up their baton. Attackers and defenders may stand with their feet on the edge of the perimeter and lean in to do what they need to do, but they cannot stand closer. Once the ball has touched the chair, defenders may not swipe it out and attackers may not attempt to keep it in. If it stays, the attacking team begins the relay race. If it rolls out of the chair and hits the ground, the attacking team must start over.
